What're ya doin'?

Settled back into the regular schedule of things, school drop offs and pick ups, being a house husband - it's nice. Despite the dread of the future I've got a plan and I've started working on it here from my home in Rochester, UK

What're ya workin' on?

Ops Wolf is the biggest thing at the moment. I've made steady progress these past few weeks, with hosting, a site, template and skeleton content framework ready to go. It's going to be another few weeks worth of work I think to get things in launch state with something worth looking at and then I can start putting together a more regular flow of updates and content (and marketing...).

I'm learning a lot and everything I'm doing I feel like I'm getting better and better at. Each step I take I'm gaining knowledge and that's a good feeling.

Current aim is to get Ops Wolf soft-launched in the next 2 weeks and March to go hard on the marketing side.

What're ya playin'?

Not much! I'm dabbling in the odd thing here and there during downtime where I don't feel like working or just a bit tired but nothing has grabbed me. Monster Hunter Wilds is due at the end of February, I have hope for that but we'll see.

Path of Exile 2

I'm really disappointed if I was honest. It's been hyped up for so long and now it's here I kind of wish it wasn't. I played a bit in early January, not even 100 hours since launch and put it down.

Fundamentally there's a good game in there somewhere, but there are so many lessons that haven't been carried over from POE1. The quality of the graphics, music/audio and animations are excellent, but it's just not fun. Especially when you hit end game.

I should go back and at least do the end game to a certain extent, but I'm so tired of some of the design choices creating friction I'm going to wait until some major patches come in.

On the bright side. POE1 has been supported for 13 years and counting. If POE2 even gets a fraction of that, it will eventually be good. I just wish they'd let it have cooked a bit longer.

What're ya listen' to?

I've been listening to IDLES a lot recently, it's somewhere between metal, Britpop and just some good old fashioned punk. They've got a great back catalogue of music to go through and it's kicking off the start of many of my days at the moment.

Check 'em out.
